Primary Responsibilities:
1. Operating the plant delinting equipment.
2. Monitor dryer temperatures & delinting equipment.
3. Maintain the seed cleaning equipment.
4. Maintain seed quality.
5. Monitors the waste products discarded from the cleaning operation.
6. Record measurements taken during the shift as directed by the Plant Operator or Plant Manager.
7. Assist the Plant Manager as directed.
8. Monitoring acid concentration on seed.
9. Monitoring quality of seed. (Immature, cracks, seed color, etc.) Monitor cleaner and gravity table to desired setting.
10. Assist as needed in packaging area.
11. Pour up of carryover seed in a timely manner to insure packaging line does not shut down due to seed not being available for treating.
12. Inspection of each lot being poured up to insure there are no variety mixtures.
13. Assist in other areas of site as needed. ( Seed returns, shipping of finish goods, etc..)
14. Have good housekeeping practices and follow all safety rules.

This position is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Lab Supervisor to complete any necessary activities to test fuzzy cottonseed, processed, and carryover cottonseed for quality standards. Key emphasis will be placed on performing tests which may include but not limited to: Truck Sampling, Moisture, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH, Seed Appearance, Data Verification, and DNA testing. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tests for extended time periods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI). Ability to work near/with other workers on daily basis. Responsible for maintaining clean work area. Follow safe work practices. Testing workstation require standing, climbing up and down stairs, bending, reaching, repetitive movements. Contact with industrial equipment such as hydraulic presses, vacuum samplers, autoclaves, seed dryers, shakers, cotton seed de-linting sink, magnification devices, ovens, dishwashers, blenders/blades, moisture/temp meters, seed counters, centrifuges, and pipettes. Labware to consist of glass beakers, test tubes, micro-centrifuge tubes, petri dishes, pipette tips, and well plates. Safe handling of lab chemicals such as buffers, acid, oil, alcohol, seed treatments, and cleaning solvents. Individuals will work primarily in indoor lab environment, positions will periodically work in the Cotton Plant QA Lab. Cross-training in the Plant Quality Assurance Lab will be required.
